At the presentation of the team, Toulon boss Mourad Boudjellal announced the "imminent arrival of the All Black world champion centre."

The announcement leaves little to the imagination and ends weeks of speculation over Fekitoa's future.

Boudjellal called the signing "the biggest coup of the summer in the transfer market".

Fekitoa who has 24 tests under his belt will join former All Blacks Ma'a Nonu and Luke McAlister at Toulon.

The Highlanders star was initially omitted from the All Blacks squad to play the Lions but earned an injury call-up for the deciding Test in Auckland, where he came off the bench.

Fekitoa has fallen down the All Blacks midfield pecking order behind young guns Ngani Laumape and Anton Lienert-Brown.

French newspaper L'equipe reports Fekitoa signed earlier this month.
