The world number one ranked side dominated the match from the outset and gave the Football Ferns little chances to gain any territory or posession throughout the match.

Despite their strong start, the United States struggled to find the back of the net in the first half hour of the match.

However their first goal came relatively cheaply after New Zealand failed to take care of a long ball.

The United States then doubled their score just eight minutes later when Mallory Pugh snuck the ball past New Zealand goal keeper Erin Naylor.

New Zealand finished the first half two-nil down but it only took thirty seconds into the second half for the deficit to be stretched further.

America netted two more goals in the second half as the Ferns struggled to keep pace with the World Champions.

The United States won the two-match series two-nil after beating New Zealand 3-1 on Sunday.
