Tough times ahead for New Zealand cricketers in India

Just to emphasize how difficult it's going to be for the Black Caps in India later this month the locals have shown their depth with India A crushing New Zealand A for a second time.

The New Zealanders suffered a second straight innings defeat in their 4-day internationals.

The New Zealanders were beaten by an innings and 26 runs in the second and final game against India A in Vijayawada.

Starting the last day on 104 for one and needing a further 132 to make India bat again... the New Zealanders were dismissed for 210.

Captain Henry Nicholls made 94.

Young leg spinner Karn Sharma, who has played 1 Test for India, was the chief destroyer taking 16 wickets over the two matches.

The scores in the game, New Zealand A 211 and 210, India 447.

The New Zealand selectors have the difficult job of find six players from the A side to bolster the Black Caps squad for their one-day series in India later this month.

By contrast the Indian selectors have decided to pick two separate A teams for the 5 one-dayers against New Zealand A starting on Friday.
