Tough day for NZ cyclists at world champs

The young Southland cyclist Eddie Dawkins has again impressed at the World Track Championships in Copenhagen, recording a personal best in qualifying sixth in the men's sprint.

But Dawkins, Sam Webster and Ethan Mitchell were all beaten in the quarter-finals.

The men's madison pair of Tom Scully and Marc Ryan finished 14th, while Gemma Dudley finished eighth in the women's omnium.

Australia still top the medal table after picking up another title on Sunday.
