Isner returning to Auckland

The two-time American champion John Isner is returning to the ASB Tennis Classic in Auckland in 2018.

Isner has been a regular contender in Auckland for the past eight years and won his first ATP Tour title in New Zealand back in 2010.

The big hitter won his second ASB Classic in 2014 and has featured in the final eight in all three of his his other appearances.

"Auckland will always hold a special place in my heart, it's where I won my first ATP title. I love Auckland, I've always played well there and I can't wait to get back there in 2018," Isner said.

The 32-year-old's also had success in 2017, winning two ATP titles in Newport and Atlanta.

Earlier this week it was confirmed American veteran, Venus Williams, wouldn't be returning to Auckland.

Williams has chosen to play in the Sydney International instead in the lead up to the Australian Open in Melbourne.

The 37-year-old had played in Auckland for the last four years, winning in 2015.
