Less than a week after smashing 126 off 51 balls in an elimination match, West Indies star batsman Gayle thumped 146 off just 69 to led Rangpur Riders to a 57-run victory over Dhaka Dynamites in the title decider in Dhaka on Wednesday (NZ time).

The 38-year-old Jamaican broke the record he set when he smashed 17 sixes in an unbeaten 175 for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in the Indian Premier League's 2013 final.

Gayle, who now heads to New Zealand for one-day and T20 series against the Black Caps, also hit five fours and reached his hundred from 57 deliveries.

He combined in an unbeaten 201-run second-wicket partnership with McCullum, who made 51 not out.

Gayle will now head to New Zealand for the one day and T20 series against the Black Caps.

The Jamaican's knock took him to two T20 milestones as he reached 11,000 runs and became the first player to score 20 centuries in T20 cricket.

He has now struck 819 sixes in T20 cricket.
