New Zealand's Paige Hareb has won her heat in the first round of the Women's Surfing Festival in Taranaki.
The competition was moved south to the backup venue at Arawharta Road 45 minutes south of the main site of Fitzroy Beach.
Hareb beat Melanie Bartels from Hawaii and Lee Ann Curren of France in the second of six heats,
Coco Ho of Hawaii wion the first heat.
