Day off for women surfers

There'll be another lay day for for top women surfers in the World Tour event in New Plymouth thanks to an onshore wind and choppy one metre swell..

Organisers are hoping to get in four hours of competition tomorrow before the finals on Friday.

Nineteen-year-old Paige Hareb, the only New Zealander on the tour, takes on Rebecca Woods of Australia in her next heat after a strong start yesterday.

And the 15-year-old New Zealand wildcard Sarah Mason will face the three time world champion Stephanie Gilmore of Australia again after reaching the third round via the repechage.
