The All Whites striker Chris Wood has been labelled as the bargain buy of the English premier league football season.

Leeds received $28 million from Burnley for Wood in August and former Ireland international and Chelsea striker turned commentator, Tony Cascarino believes Wood was sold too cheaply.

Cascarino was reacting Wood's two goals in their Premier League match against West Ham at the weekend.

He told The Times "Wood was fantastic at Leeds and I was surprised other Premier League clubs didn't rival Burnley last summer when they signed him for £15 million. He has power, pace and is a composed finisher - he could be a bargain."

Wood scored 27 goals for Leeds last season. Their top scorer this campaign is Kemar Roofe with 12.

His signing with Burnley was a record for the club and while he has mised the past few weeks with injury his return off the bench against West Ham shows he's come back in top form and is the club's leading scorer.
