6:13 am on 21 April 2010

The International Cricket Council is preparing to fly teams direct from Dubai to the West Indies for the Twenty20 World Cup starting next week.

Following disruptions to air travel schedules caused by the volcanic uruption in Icenland last week, the ICC's major sponsor Emirates airlines has offered a charter-flight option for teams yet to travel to the tournament which starts on the 30th of this month.

Ireland and Zimbabwe are in the Caribbean already, and travel arrangements are being made for seven of the eight remaining teams. New Zealand aren't affected as they're able to travel via the United States as normal.
