The sporting world's most sought after trophy, the Football World cup is on its way to Canada, after a six hour flying visit to New Zealand.

The trophy was on display at Auckland's Sky City Convention Centre today with several members of the All Whites getting close look at the trophy they'll be competing for in South Africa in June.

Among them was defender Ben Sigmund who got a little too close and security moved in when he touched the 36cm 18-carat-gold trophy, which weighs six kilogrammes.
