Everton set to tour Australia

11:17 am on 1 May 2010

The English Premier League football club Everton will play matches in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney as part of a three-week pre-season tour in July.

It will be Everton's first visit to Australia since 1987, when the then champions of England participated in a post-season tour, playing two games in Melbourne and Brisbane.

David Moyes's squad will return to both cities to face A-League sides Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Heart and will complete their tour against Sydney FC.

Moyes says that, thanks to their Socceroo Tim Cahill, the Aussies know all about Everton and he's sure they'll get a typically warm Australian welcome.
