A day after the New Zealand women beat Australia in a warm-up match for their World Twenty20 tournament, the White Ferns have lost by three wickets to the West Indies on the last ball of another practice match in St Kitts.

The White Ferns set their hosts a total of 153 for seven with Aimee Watkins' 56 off 48 balls and Nicola Browne's 30 off 17 retired the standouts.

Browne retired so other players got some time the middle ahead of the first match against India on May the 6th.

In reply, Deandra Dottin's blistering 31 off 17 laid the foundation for the West Indies, with tailenders Pamela Lavine, who made 17, and Merissa Aguilleira, who made 11, sharing an unbeaten 19-run partnership for the eighth wicket as the hosts chased down the target.

Watkins was the pick of the White Ferns bowlers with three for 23 while Browne chipped in with one for 22.
