Boston blows it in the Bronx

The Boston Red Sox have blown for a chance to record a rare come from behind win over the New York Yankees in the Bronx.

The Red Sox were down 5-0 after the first inning, a deficit they hadn't hauled in at Yankee Stadium since 1994.

But they led 9-7 in the eighth after Kevin Youkilis scored two runs with his team's fifth homer.

Alex Rodriquez tied the game in the bottom of the ninth though then Marcus Thames hit another two-run homer to give the Yankees their fifth win in seven matches with their historic foes this season.
