The New Zealand quad of Drysdale, Lewis Hollows, Cameron Crampton, and Nathan Flannery will have to go through a repecharge if they are to advance to the next round at the world champs in Bulgaria.

Drysdale moved into the quad after losing the single berth to Robbie Manson who won his heat.

Four of the eight New Zealand crews competing in Bulgaria won their heats - Manson, the women's pair of Grace Prendergast and Kerri Gowler, the men's double scull of Chris Harris and John Storey and the women's double sculls New Zealand's Zoe McBride and Jackie Kiddle.
