The Ireland football team beat New Zealand's Group F counterparts, Paraguay, 2-1 in a World Cup warm-up match in Dublin.

The Irish, who failed to make the finals in South Africa after a controversial second-leg play-off against France, scored both their goals in the first-half through Kevin Doyle and Liam Lawrence.

Paraguay dominated posseision during the game, but failed to convert that into chances in front of the goal.

The All Whites meet Paraguay in South Africa in their third group match on June the 25th.

Meanwhile, Nigeria only managed a nil-all draw against Saudi Arabia in their first World Cup warm-up match, and North Korea and Greece, who're both competing in next month's tournament, drew 2-all in Austria.
