Ivanovic feels she's on the right path to revovery

Former champion Ana Ivanovic and super-senior Kimiko Date Krumm saw their French Open hopes fizzle out as the rain at Roland Garros resulted in six hours of play washed away.

Ivanovic, the 2008 champion and former world number one, bowed out 6-3, 6-love to big-hitting Russian 28th seed Alisa Kleybanova.

The defeat for Ivanovic, now ranked 42 in the world, was the earliest in her six visits to the tournament, but she feels she's working her way out of her slump.

Japan's Date Krumm, who turns 40 in September and made her Paris debut in 1989, was unable to repeat her stunning first-round dismissal of former world number one Dinara Safina as she lost to Australia's Jarmila Groth.

In the men's draw Andy Murray and Andy Roddick scored second round wins as did Italy's Fabio Fognini who beat French 13th seed Gael Monfils in their match carried over from the previous day.

Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams will play their scheduled matches on Saturday.
