The new All Black loose forward Victor Vito may have to step in at No.8 with the side's injury crisis forcing the selectors to take a few risks.
Just one specialist No.8's been named. Canterbury's Kieran Read will start off the back of the scrum against Ireland Saturday week but skipper Richie McCaw's not worried about the shortage of specialist back-up, with fellow flanker Jerome Kaino a chance if injury fells Read.
McCaw says he's only third cab off the rank to fill in at No.8.
The selectors have also named just one No.12, new cap Benson Stanley, along with only two halfbacks and two hookers.
