Folau tipped to join AFL

The Brisbane Broncos giant rugby league centre Israel Folau is expected to tell his club today he's accepting a massive offer to switch to the AFL.

21 year-old Folau , who has played eight Tests for Australia and six State of Origin games for Queensland, will sign a three-year deal with the expansion AFL club Greater Western Sydney, who enter the competition in 2012.

The deal is variously reported by Australian news agencies to be worth up to 5.2 million dollars.

The Queensland State of Origin coach Mal Meninga has hinted Folau's place in the current series is safe, but former great Gordon Tallis thinks he should be barred from selection as soon as he confirms he's changing codes.
