Wellington will host its round of the IRB sevens series on the 4th and 5th of February next year.
Those attending won't have to pay any extra for services because of a holiday surcharge as Waitangi Day is on the Sunday.
New Zealand will again be the third round of the series following Dubai and George in South Africa.
After New Zealand the series will again go to Las Vegas followed by Hong Kong, Adelaide, London and Edinburgh.
Samoa won their first ever title on Monday in Edinburgh.
Tickets for the New Zealand tournament will go on sale in September.
It is the 12th year Wellington has hosted a round of the series.
