Arsenal have rejected a formal offer from Barcelona for their Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas and told the Catalan football club they will not enter into any transfer negotiations.
The London Premier League club says its captain is under contract until the summer of 2015 and is a highly valued member of the team.
Arsenal says there'll be no counter-proposal or discussion as Barcelona had publicly stated it would respect the Gunners' decision.
Fabregas said last month he had spoken to manager Arsenal's manager Arsene Wenger about what he wanted and had left it in his hands.
The 23-year-old came the Barcelona youth ranks before moving to Arsenal at 16 but has never made any secret of his desire to return to the Catalan giants at some stage.
