US college basketball coaching legend John Wooden has died at the age of 99.
The University of California at Los Angeles, where Wooden coached for 27 seasons said he died of natural causes.
Wooden - known as the "Wizard of Westwood" for the Los Angeles district where the UCLA campus is located - coached UCLA's Bruins to an unprecedented 10 NCAA championships, including seven in a row from 1967-1973.
He went 620-147 in his 27 seasons at UCLA and posted a career record of 667-161 in 29 years of college coaching.
UCLA won 88 straight games from 1971-74 and 38 consecutive NCAA tournament games from 1964-74, both records.
In his tenure he coached many future NBA greats, including Lew Alcindor - later known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - and Bill Walton.
