Johns stands down from coaching role amid racism allegations

The NSW assistant coach Andrew Johns has stood down form hjis role amid allegations he made racist and offensive comments about Queensland Origin star Greg Inglis during a Blues bonding session.

The NSW winger Timana Tahu walked out on his State of Origin teammates after Johns made what Tahu has called unacceptable and offensive comments and says he hopes his sacrifice raises awareness of the need to be respectful of other cultures.

John's has stood down amid the controversy and says he's deeply remorseful about his comments.
