Campbell beaten in Scotland

The New Zealand golfer Ben Campbell has been beaten in the second round of matchplay in the British Amateur Championship in Scotland.

Campbell, runner-up in the Australian Amateur Championships, qualified yesterday in a share of fifth place in the strokeplay qualifying.

With a bye through the first round, Campbell lost his second round clash against Bolivia's Sebastian MacLean 2 and 1.

The Masterton player has completed his three tournament venture in Scotland with Waikato's Mathew Perry, finishing seventh in the Scottish Amateur, 19th in the St Andrews Links and tied for fifth in the British Amateur qualifying.
