The National Rugby League has agreed not to advertise an Australian gambling game at tonight's match between the New Zealand Warriors and Melbourne Storm in Auckland, after consultation with the Department of Internal Affairs.

A Keno Super Saturday logo has been painted on the playing surface at Mt Smart Stadium in three previous games, which breaches legislation that prohibits the advertising of overseas gambling in New Zealand.

Internal Affairs contacted the NRL in May to advise them of the breach, and had to remind them again this week.

Internal Affairs previously ordered the Wellington Phoenix football club to remove a billboard for the Australian betting agency Centrebet from Westpac Stadium in Wellington.
