The Spanish driver, Jorge Lorenzo, has secured his fourth successive pole position in qualifying for the German Grand Prix.
Lorenzo, who had to complete qualifying on his spare bike, is seeking his sixth win of this year's MotoGP championship, which he leads with 165 points.
Meanwhile, Italy's Valentino Rossi took fifth spot, just six weeks after breaking his leg.
Rossi says he felt some pain because of having two sessions instead of one, but says he feels good and his movement is okay.
