The reunion of Queensland's halfback Will Genia and first-five Quade Cooper has the Springboks on edge ahead of Saturday night's must-win Tri-Nations rugby clash.
Genia's return from a broken hand to partner his Reds teammate Cooper has boosted the Wallabies and also helped force a change in South Africa's plans.
The Springboks have identified the Queensland pair as big threats on their home ground, where they were the most exciting and dangerous players in the Reds' Super 14 resurgence.
They've played only one Test together since then, though, the surprise 21-20 loss to England in Sydney.
But the Springbok coach Peter de Villiers has still moved to counter their threat by making four changes intended to make his side as fast as possible.
