New Zealand's top road cyclist Julian Dean says he's full of confidence about New Zealand's chances at the World Championships in Melbourne in early October.
Dean completed his sixth Tour de France on Monday with three stage podium finishes.
The 35-year-old says with the likes of Greg Henderson and Hayden Roulston, who didn't compete in the Tour this year, New Zealand should have a strong team at the World Champs.
Dean says his just-completed 3,500-kilometre ride in the tour has him feeling good about his chances in Melbourne and he's "geed up" for the Australian tournament.
Dean's best result at a World Championships was ninth in 2005.
He'll also ride in the Commonwealth Games later in October for the first time since 1998.
Dean says he's also scheduled to ride the third classic, the Vuelta, in Spain in August.
