Cricket Australia will decide tomorrow whether or not to keep former prime minister John Howard as its nominee for the role of vice-president on the International Cricket Council.
Mr Howard was put forward by the boards of Australia and New Zealand as their candidate but rejected by the ICC board.
It is the first time the ICC has rejected a nominee for the vice-presidency.
Cricket Australia spokesman Peter Young says there is no plan at this stage to find another candidate.
The board of Cricket Australia will meet tomorrow to discuss the issue.
Members from the Asian and African bloc rejected Mr Howard's candidacy at an ICC board meeting in Singapore in June.
ICC members take it in turn to nominate a vice-president who will serve for two years before serving another two years as president.
Young says Mr Howard is the only candidate from Australia and New Zealand currently in the running.
