The Wallabies centre Rob Horne has been ruled out of the rest of the Tri-Nations series with an elbow injury suffered during Saturday night's loss to the All Blacks in Melbourne.
20 year old Horne has a small fracture in his right elbow which needs surgery.
He joins injured wingers Digby Ioane and Peter Hynes on the sidelines, while first five Quade Cooper will miss this weekend's match against the All Blacks in Christchurch as he serves out a two-week ban.
Utilities Adam Ashley-Cooper and James O'Connor are possible candidates to replace Horne, opening the door for New South Wales Waratahs fullback Kurtley Beale or Shepherd to take a place in the starting 15.
