Silver Ferns thump Samoa

The Silver Ferns have opened their international netball season with a 92-28 victory over Samoa in Porirua.

With their top lineup starting the match, the home side took control straight away, jumping out to a 24-7 lead at quarter-time and they led by 31 at half-time.

Coach Ruth Aitken then made five changes and cleared her bench at three-quarter time.

Goal attack Grace Rasmussen made her debut for New Zealand and shot 94 percent, while the team shot 91 percent.

The Silver Ferns' next match is against Jamaica in Christchurch in 10 days time.
