Woods not favourite for PGA Championship

For the first time this century Tiger Woods, apart from absence through injury, has been displaced as the favourite for a major golf championship.

After the worst result of his career yesterday, finishing second to last at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio, he'll tee off in the US PGA Championship later this week at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin the second favourite behind the world number two Phil Mickelson.

The world's biggest bookmaker William Hill has Mickelson at 10 to 1 and Woods at 12 to 1, and the other major British bookmaker Ladbrokes are offering similar odds on the world's top two players.

The New Zealand TAB has Mickelson at a microscopic $2.50 and Woods at $2.75.
