Cooper tipped to stay with rugby

While there's excitment in Sydney league circles about a possible switch of code for Quade Cooper, the word from north of the border suggests the Queensland and Wallabies first five will stick with rugby.

Queensland's rugby coach Ewen McKenzie said he spoke to his marquee player last week and got the distinct impression he has a number of unfulfilled ambitions in rugby including next year's Rugby World Cup.

McKenzie says he'd be shocked if 22-year-old Cooper walked out on rugby, despite a reported $1.5 million three-year offer the Parramatta Eels.

And the former Wallaby Mat Rogers, who's just announced his retirement from the NRL and all professional sport, believes all the publicity about Cooper is just media talk, aimed at increasing his value in rugby.
