The New Zealand centre Jessica McCormack admits they're relieved to have come away with a win in their opening match of the Olympic women's basketball competition.
The Tall Ferns beat Mali 76-72, having been up by 10 at one stage, before the Africans came back to level the scores with 5 minutes to play.
McCormack, who scored 5 points and took down 5 rebounds, says it was a great and close game and it's a relief to win first up.
She says they can play better, they were shaking with nerves today and it took a lot of guts to win and so they'll be better for it.
Guard Angela Marino top scored with 19, while forward Jillian Harmon pulled down 8 rebounds.
Their next match is against Spain on Monday.
