Runaway rugby league star Sonny Bill Williams is facing a possible jail term for contempt after again failing to appear in a Sydney court.

Court staff called Williams' name twice in the hallway outside the New South Wales Supreme Court and got no response.

Barrister Arthur Moses, who is acting for the Bulldogs NRL club, told the court that Williams and his manager Khoder Nasser had been served with orders to attend.
