The Wellington rugby side has suffered its first loss of the national provincial competition beaten in the final round by Otago 36-21 at Carisbrook.
The win has promoted Otago to tenth on the points table.
Top place finisher Wellington has completed the regular season on 44 points, two ahead of Canterbury.
Earlier last evening North Harbour toppled Counties-Manukau 57-28.
