The New Zealand netball captain Julie Seymour has all but ruled herself out of both of the upcoming tests against Australia.

Seymour suffered an achilles tendon injury ahead of the final test against England at the weekend and while it was hoped she might be able to join team in Brisbane after Sunday's first test in Melbourne, she doubts she's be able to join the team.

She says while hopeful of coming right she still can't run on the ankle at this stage.

Also out of the squad that played England is defender Leanna Du Brain due to personal reasons.

Southern Steel midcourters Liana Barrett-Chase and Wendy Telfer have been included in the squad as replacements.
