Most Blacks Sticks back for trials

Thirteen of the 16 Beijing Black Sticks Women's hockey team have been named in the 47-strong squad to trial in Auckland in late January but Lizzy Igasan, Jaimee Provan and Anita Wawatai are unavilable for personal reasons.

Notable inclusions are the Auckland striker Honor Dillon after some strong showings in the NHL as well as the Canterbury midfielder Meredith Orr, who's back for another crack after missing Olympic selection.

The trial will be run by the new Black Sticks Women's coach, who is likely to be announced in mid December.

The Black Sticks will face Australia in the Oceania Cup in August next year.
