Roger Federer believes he can repeat last year's performance and win the Masters Cup again, despite needing to beat the in-form Scot Andy Murray to reach the semi-finals in Shanghai.
Federer says the situation's in his hands, like last year, but was unconvincing as he kept his semi-final hopes alive by beating Radek Stepanek.
The Czech world number 27 was only called in to replace Andy Roddick when the American injured his ankle during a warm-up, and Federer was recovering from illness which he says would've kept him out if the game was played the day before.
The Swiss world number two says he's relaxed at the prospect of another must-win pool game against Murray, who's enjoying his best year and has already qualified for the last four with a straight sets win over Gilles Simon.
But the tenacious Frenchman beat Federer in the opening round and, ominously for Federer, who's never gone out before the knockout stage at six previous Masters Cups, Murray says he always felt in total control as he beat Simon.
