Phoenix keen to try anything to improve on away record.

The Wellington Phoenix are keeping their options open heading into tonight's A-League football clash against Melbourne Victory in Australia.

The Phoenix are looking to gain first away competition points of the season this week, and are coming off a tough home win against the defending champions, Sydney, just three days ago.

Last year, the Phoenix won just 3 out of 14 away games during the regular season, and the coach, Ricki Herbert, says they are willing to try almost anything to improve on their away record.

Herbert says that could mean players who've had more time to rest, like new signing Jade North, will start ahead of those who've had more time on the park.

The Phoenix goalkeeper, Mark Paston, is also likely to play tonight after missing Saturday' match with a neck injury.

The match starts at 9.30.
