Lions looking to get back on track in Wellington tonight

On home turf tonight, Wellington will be hoping this evening's national provincial rugby contest against Hawke's Bay will show them back on the pace they have fallen off recently.

A bad loss at Palmerston North followed by defeat in the Auckland rain has left the Lions, heavily favoured to at least make the top four, now in a pack of teams just outside the playoff zone.

Wellington have a hefty injury list this week, with regulars Jacob Ellison, Alby Mathewson, Mark Reddish, Rodney So'oialo and Shaun Treeby all unavailable.

But their opponents, the Magpies, are well out of finals contention, fourth from the bottom of the table, and are not expected to get an upset win.
