There were three close matches in the Australian National Basketball League on Wednesday night with wins for Townsville, Gold Coast and Melbourne.
Townsville scored a 99-97 overtime victory over Adelaide, Gold Coast scored with time almost up to beat Wollongong 72-70 and Melbourne survived a late scare to snap their two-game losing streak with an 82-73 victory over Sydney.
The Breakers still top the standings with a 10 and 2 record and they don't play until New Years eve in Townsville.
