IOC suspends Ghana for interference

The International Olympic Committee has suspended Ghana's membership because of "political interference", a move that could put at risk the African country's participation at the 2012 London Games.

IOC president Jacques Rogge says the executive board expelled Ghana in a dispute over the country's sports law, "that does not respect the provisions of the Olympic charter".

The move comes after months of talks andmeanst Ghana's Olympic funding has been withdrawn and unless resolved the country's athletes will be unable to compete in London next year.
