The Crusaders will play their first pre-season match against the Reds in Queensland on Saturday night at the same time as their All Black midfield star Sonny Bill Williams has the biggest fight of his boxing career up the road on the Gold Coast.
New Crusaders recruit Israel Dagg will sit out the game with a minor niggle, along with his wingers Sean Maitland and Dagg's good Magpies mate, Zac Guildford.
But Dagg's jumping out of his skin with the calibre of his new team-mates, after his move from the Highlanders, citing the likes of Robbie Fruean who he says is "a bit of a Jonah Lomu".
Dagg says he's pretty excited and hopefully things go as planned for his year, because rugby can surprise you sometimes.
