Highlanders first five prepared for the consequences after being arrested

6:43 pm on 21 March 2011

The Highlanders first-five Robbie Robinson is prepared for the consequences after being pepper sprayed and arrested by police in Dunedin in the early hours of Sunday morning, says the rugby franchise's general manager Roger Clark.

Robinson will go before an internal disciplinary hearing after spending a night in a police cell following his side's Super Rugby loss to the the Crusaders in Dunedin.

The 21-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning after being involved in a scuffle on his way home but was later released and wasn't charged.

Clark says he spoke to Robinson after he was released and he's aware he'll face disciplinary action when the team returns to training next week.

The Highlanders have a week off with a bye in the competition this round.

Clark says the incident is out of character for Robinson.
