The Black Caps are increasingly confident about the fitness of captain Daniel Vettori and pace bowler Kyle Mills for Friday night's World Cup cricket quarter-final against South Africa.

Vettori missed the last two group games after injuring his knee during the win over Pakistan, while Mills sat out the loss to Sri Lanka with a thigh strain.

A team spokesman says both players are continuing to recover well and should be fit to play against South Africa.

The squad arrived in Dhaka at midday local time yesterday but decided not to have a training run.
