Hurricanes go back to basics

The recalled Hurricanes lock James Broadhurst says the Wellington based side will go revert to a simple game plan of kicking for field position as the Canes seek just their second win of the Super Rugby season against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Sunday morning.

The 12th placed Hurricanes, face a tough time against a resurgent Cheetahs side who, despite being dead last on the table, enter the game as favourites with the bookmakers.

Broadhurst says the Hurricanes will kick for territory on Sunday morning and try to pressure the Cheetahs into making mistakes in their own half.

Coach Mark Hammett has made several changes to the side that lost to the Brumbies last weekend with Broadhurst replacing Jason Eaton, prop Michael Bent coming in for Neemia Tialata, Jayden Hayward replacing injured All Black Conrad Smith at centre and debutant utility back Beauden Barrett named on the bench.
