The Central Pulse weren't able to cause an upset in their Trans-Tasman netball clash against the Melbourne Vixens.
The Pulse started strongly putting the first five goals on the board but the Vixens clawed back and eventually beat the Pulse 58-42.
The top two New Zealand sides have crunch matches on Sunday.
The Waikato Bay of Plenty magic play the Adelaide Thunderbirds away, while the Northern Mystics will have to beat the Canterbury Tactix if they're to stay in contention for a top four spot.
