Dallas beat Miami to level NBA Finals

12:26 pm on 9 June 2011

The Dallas Mavericks used some fourth quarter fireworks to overcome a 32-point performance by Dwyane Wade to defeat the Miami Heat 86-83 and tie the best-of-seven National Basketball Association finals at 2-2.

Dallas, seeking its first title and urged on by a raucous crowd of 20,000, benefited from 10 points by Dirk Nowitzki to overcome a nine-point deficit in the final eight minutes.

Two foul shots by Jason Terry with 6.7 seconds left gave the Mavericks an 86-83 lead.

After a timeout, Wade fumbled the in-bounds pass and shovelled the ball to Mike Miller, who fired an airshot with his desperate long range attempt missing everything.

Game five is in Dallas on Friday.
