NZ still a chance at FIFA U-17 World Cup

Although New Zealand lost 1-0 to the Czech Republic at the Under 17 football World Cup in Mexico, the young All Whites can still get past the pool stage.

They share the Group D lead with their next opponents, the USA, on goal difference and will progress if they win today.

New Zealand had the better the second spell, creating five good chances, but coach Aaron McFarland says outstanding goalkeeping ensured there'd be no repeat of the win over Uzbekistan.

McFarland says the Czech keeper is the tournament's tallest player and those extra centimetres made the difference.

Uzbekistan upset the USA so all four teams have three points.
